Aaron combines rigorous academics with enrichment and therapeutic services in a safe, supportive environment, empowering each student to become a confident and successful learner.

At the heart of our work are our core values — integrity, accountability, collaboration, inclusion, and support — which guide how we show up for students, families, and each other every day.

Why join us?

  • Make an Impact – Help students with special needs build life skills, confidence, and independence in a supportive school environment

Your Role as Assistant Teacher

  • Plan and Deliver Engaging Instruction: Collaborate with the Head Teacher to design and implement lessons in reading, math, and two additional subjects that meet curriculum standards and foster student growth across academic areas.
  • Develop and Monitor Individualized Goals: Support individual and group learning by implementing differentiated instruction, tracking student progress, and contributing to narrative reports, report cards, and monthly academic updates.
  • Collaborate Across Educational Teams: Work in close partnership with the Head Teacher, teaching teams, and school leadership to align instruction, share insights, and ensure a cohesive, supportive educational environment.
  • Implement Behavior and Classroom Management Strategies: Establish consistent routines and reinforce classroom rules. Apply behavior management strategies to create a structured, respectful, and inclusive space where all students can thrive.
  • Engage and Support Families: Assist in maintaining open lines of communication with families through monthly letters for reading and math groups, and participation in Curriculum Night and parent-teacher conferences.
  • Advocate for Student Needs: Substitute for the Head Teacher when needed and confidently lead classroom instruction. Support student assessment and contribute to records that help drive individualized learning goals.
  • Foster a Positive Learning Environment: Bring your own interests and strengths to the classroom to enrich the learning experience. Help maintain a well-organized and welcoming environment through materials prep, cleanup, and collaborative daily routines.

Qualifications:

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Education, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university.
  • A genuine passion for working with children, along with patience and compassion.
