Atlassian Jira/Confluence Administrator Job Locations US-MD-Bethesda Job ID 2025-3501 Category Information Technology Type Full Time Job Description Atlassian Jira/Confluence Administrator Location: 100% onsite in Bethesda, MD Clearance: US Citizenship eligible for a Public Trust NetImpact Strategies is seeking an Atlassian Jira/Confluence Administrator to support a Federal Agency. The ideal candidate will have expertise in administering and customizing Atlassian tools, supporting Agile workflows, CI/CD pipeline integration, and managing Linux-based application platforms. Key Responsibilities Install, upgrade, and maintain Atlassian products including Jira and Confluence Develop and customize Jira/Confluence plugins and modules using Java Manage custom configurations to ensure system stability and scalability Support Agile development practices and sprint execution Architect and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Bamboo, TeamCity, etc. Mentor developers on CI/CD and DevOps tools Redesign workflows for scalability and modernization Install/configure software packages like Tomcat, JBoss on Linux platforms Configure and maintain infrastructure services including Apache Web Server and ColdFusion Support version control systems: Git, SVN, Bitbucket (Stash) Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis Author technical and user documentation for varied audiences Support security and compliance aligned with NIH/HHS, NIST, ISO standards Design and implement secure enterprise systems (SSO, password managers) Research and recommend emerging technologies to align with agency goals Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) 3+ years administering Jira, Confluence, and Atlassian suite (Bitbucket, FishEye, Crucible) Strong understanding of Jira workflows, permission schemes, notification schemes, screen schemes Experience with build automation tools (Jenkins, Bamboo, TeamCity) Hands-on scripting in Bash, KSH, CSH, SH, Perl, or Python Proficient in Java programming and J2EE framework Experience with testing frameworks (JUnit, Selenium Grid) and build tools (Maven, Gradle) Proficient with source control systems (Git, SVN), including branching and merging Familiar with configuration management principles Experience working in Linux environments Strong communication skills, customer-facing interaction Preferred Previous federal IT consulting experience (preferred) About Us Perks of working at NetImpact Strategies Your health comes first - we offer comprehensive medical, dental, & vision insurance that starts the first of the month after you join the team Invest in your future - 401(k) Plan - Immediately vested employer contributions; no matching required Work hard, play hard - we offer a generous Paid Time Off (PTO) policy and observe ALL ten (10) federal holidays Pawsitively pawesome - Pet Insurance (because our little critters are part of our families, too!)
