We are seeking a full-time Clinical Practice Assistant (40 hours/week, day shift, Monday through Friday) to support the Dermatology Department across our Chestnut Hill and Needham locations. The Clinical Practice Assistant is responsible for delivering high-quality patient services, including greeting, check-in, scheduling, and medical assisting. This role plays a key part in ensuring smooth daily operations and an exceptional patient experience. Essential Responsibilities include communicating with and assisting patients, other employees and the general public in a courteous, helpful manner by phone and in person; providing accurate information, directions and/or guidance and following up promptly to ensure that needs have been met; taking complete and accurate information from patients/callers, prioritizing information and facilitating communication of information to providers; preparing schedules, patient charts and other documents as needed in accordance with quality standards while maintaining patient confidentiality; performing check-in, registration, and verification of demographic and fiscal information utilizing a computer system; entering data from visit tickets to facilitate billing; collecting copayments; scheduling related diagnostic and lab tests; inputting patient insurance and managed care plans including prior authorizations, referrals, and pre-certifications; verifying patient schedule and entering billing tickets. Required qualifications include a High School diploma or GED, basic computer familiarity, and MA, EMT, CNA, LNA certificate or diploma or at least 5 months of direct patient care experience in a clinical or research setting. Preferred qualification is a Phlebotomy certificate. Competencies required include written and oral communication skills, knowledge of standard concepts and procedures, teamwork, customer service, and ability to provide patient care to young adult, middle age, and elderly age groups. The job is physically demanding, requiring exertion of up to 100 pounds occasionally and/or 50 pounds frequently, with extended periods of standing and/or moving. Employment requires vaccination against influenza and COVID-19 as a condition of employment.
