Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Environmental Health Safety Specialist with at least 3 years of hands-on construction safety experience and a strong background in welding, scaffolding, and pipefitting. This role is responsible for promoting a safe work environment by ensuring compliance with OSHA standards, company safety policies, and site-specific procedures. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative problem-solver with a working knowledge of field operations, who can effectively bridge the gap between safety protocols and production goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily job site safety inspections and hazard assessments
  • Monitor field activities to ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices
  • Deliver safety orientation and toolbox talks to crews
  • Investigate incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions; recommend corrective actions
  • Support site leadership in implementing Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and Safe Work Plans
  • Participate in safety audits and develop improvement strategies
  • Maintain documentation of safety activities, incidents, and training
  • Serve as a field resource for proper use of PPE, fall protection, lockout/tagout, and confined space entry
  • Collaborate with tradespeople to ensure safe execution of welding, pipefitting, and scaffolding operations
  • Enforce safety policies while fostering a culture of safety and accountability

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of construction safety experience
  • Background in welding, scaffolding, and pipefitting strongly preferred
  • OSHA 30 Certification required; additional safety certifications (e.g., First Aid/CPR, CHST) a plus
  • Solid understanding of OSHA, ANSI, and other applicable regulations
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently in fast-paced field environments
  • Proficiency in safety software and Microsoft Office Suite
