Ivy Tech-Sellersburg is looking for an individual to join their team as a full-time faculty member of the Advanced Automation & Robotics Technology/Industrial Technology programs. Faculty members provide quality and engaging instruction in all delivery methods and formats; provide timely and meaningful feedback to students regarding the mastery of course and program learning outcomes; engage students outside of class in support of the curriculum and co-curriculum; provide institutional support and community service; participate meaningfully in student retention and completion initiatives; support the College’s mission and strategic plan initiatives; conform to regional expectations of faculty performance and engagement. Major responsibilities include instructional duties such as delivering assigned classes using pedagogy and technology that best support student learning, developing and maintaining curriculum and course materials, maintaining student records, managing classroom environment, facilitating student achievement of program learning outcomes, and using Learning Management System (e.g. IvyLearn). Retention and student success duties include providing academic coaching and monitoring to assigned student advisees, maintaining office hours, promoting student recruitment and retention. Professional development includes participating in training, onsite business/industry time, self-study, scholarly activities, and staying current in pedagogy and technology. Community relations and business outreach involve participating in community service and developing community/industry/business contacts. Institutional support includes participation in committees, projects, workforce alignment, commencement, meetings, career services, alumni activities, and supporting program management. Qualifications include experience in advanced manufacturing with knowledge in electricity, electronics, motor controls, PLC, mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and preferably automation and controls including robotics and smart manufacturing. Education requirements include various combinations of degrees and related work experience as specified. Must possess or be willing to obtain specialized certifications as required.
