About Company:

Northeast Fire-Rescue pledges to provide the highest caliber of Fire and EMS personnel to our partnering organizations. Working alongside our volunteer Fire/EMS partners, supplementing, enhancing their operational readiness and assisting in all aspects of their organizations administrative and management structure we’ll ensure every 911 call receives the highest level of care.

About the Role:

We are seeking an Firefighter/Emergency Medical Technician to join our team and provide high-quality medical care to our patients. As an EMT, you will be responsible for responding to emergency calls, assessing patients' conditions, and providing necessary medical treatment. You will work closely with other medical professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients. Your role will be critical in saving lives and providing essential medical care to those in need.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Pro-board-certified Firefighter 1 and Haz-Mat Operations
  • Valid CT EMT-Basic certification or CT State Paramedic license
  • Valid AHA CPR certification
  • FEMA 100, 200, 700, 800
  • Ability to work in high-pressure situations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Enthusiastic and coachable

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Pro-board-certified Firefighter 2 certification
  • Experience in patient care and medical operations
  • Documentation knowledge
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work flexible hours

Responsibilities:

  • Performing rescue operations at an emergency incident
  • Performing structural firefighting operations
  • Responding to emergency calls and providing medical treatment to patients
  • Assessing patients' conditions and determining the appropriate course of action
  • Transporting patients to medical facilities for further treatment
  • Maintaining accurate records of patient care and treatment
  • Collaborating with other medical professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients

Skills:

As a Firefighter/Emergency Medical Technician, you will use your skills in patient care, medical operations, and infection control on a daily basis. You will need to be able to think quickly and make critical decisions in high-pressure situations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as you will be working closely with other medical professionals and interacting with patients and their families. Additionally, documentation skills will be beneficial in maintaining accurate records of patient care and treatment. Overall, this role requires a combination of technical expertise, compassion, and professionalism to provide the best possible care to our patients.
