Piping Technology & Products is looking to hire a Forklift Mechanic who can repair, maintain, and inspect forklift, ensuring safe and efficient operation, troubleshooting mechanical issues, performing routine maintenance, and making repairs to engines, brakes, hydraulics and other systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintenance:
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as changing fluids, lubricating parts, and inspecting tires.
  • Ensure batteries for electric forklifts are fully charged.

• Safety:
  • Ensure forklifts are safe for operation by performing regular inspections and maintenance.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.

• Testing:
  • Test forklift trucks to ensure repairs are completed correctly.

• Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed.

• Other:
  • May assist with other duties as assigned. 

• Diagnosis and Repair:
  • Identify and diagnose mechanical problems with forklifts.
  • Perform repairs to engines, brakes, hydraulics, electrical systems, and other components.
  • Replace worn or damaged parts.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of forklift mechanics, hydraulics, and electrical systems. 
  • Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical problems. 
  • Experience with various types of forklifts (electric, gas, propane). 

• Other Skills:

  • Problem-solving skills. 
  • Attention to detail. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Good communication skills. 

• Certifications:

  • Certified Forklift Technician (CFT) or equivalent certification is often preferred.
