International Freight Forwarding Manager
Location: Burlingame, CA | $100,000 - $110,000 per year + Performance Incentives and Benefits

GL Career Placement is seeking an experienced Manager of International Freight Forwarding to lead and enhance the international transportation operations for one of our clients in Burlingame, CA. • Define and oversee the company’s international freight forwarding services to ensure consistent, high-quality performance.
• Build and manage relationships with suppliers and carriers, including negotiations to optimize efficiency and costs.
• Continuously evaluate and improve operational workflows to enhance productivity and scalability.
• Lead, mentor, and inspire a team to achieve organizational goals while fostering a collaborative and motivating environment.
• Develop and manage departmental budgets, forecasts, and strategic performance goals.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate advanced technology and processes into transportation management systems.
• Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, including US Customs and CTPAT standards.
• Drive customer satisfaction by addressing and resolving operational challenges effectively.

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of management experience in freight forwarding or international transportation (or equivalent experience and certifications such as NCBFAA Export/Customs Specialist or US Customs Brokerage License).
• Advanced proficiency with logistics technology and platforms, including MS Office, CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), and Cargowise.
• Proven leadership skills with a track record of managing diverse teams and achieving results.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Expertise in compliance with international logistics regulations and standards.

• Salary : $100,000–$130,000 per year (commensurate with experience, skills, and location).
