Job Description

Role: Legal Assistant (Temp)

Location: Seattle, WA (Hybrid)

Hours : 8 am – 5 pm (37.5-hour work week)

Duration : Contract through September 2025 (Possibility of temp to perm)

Team structure: Supporting 5 Attorneys in Labor and Employment Law

Pay: $40- $46/hr.

Job Responsibilities

  • Communicate with case teams to prevent duplicate requests to the Attorney Resource Team.
  • Verify court and other critical deadlines, alerting attorneys as needed.
  • Create and maintain litigation matters in Virtual Binder.
  • Prepare accurate and timely Tables of Contents (TOCs) and Tables of Authorities (TOAs).
  • Coordinate and finalize documents for court or administrative filings and ensure proper service upon relevant parties.
  • E-file documents in compliance with court and agency rules.
  • Properly and promptly file documents in NetDocuments .
  • Accurately create and submit New Client Matters (NCM) per firm standards.
  • Coordinate transcription of audio recordings.
  • Manage document printing and assembly with office services personnel.
  • Maintain attorney contact lists using Outlook and the Client Relationship Management system ( InterAction ).
  • Submit a daily task log detailing projects and assignments.
  • May review and revise client pre-bills as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience
  • Highly organized, with the ability to support multiple attorneys and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and anticipate case needs.
  • Proactive in identifying, monitoring, and executing tasks aligned with case timelines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Advanced proficiency in Best Authority for TOC and TOA creation.
  • Extensive knowledge of court rules and electronic case filing (ECF) procedures.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Adobe, and document management systems (e.g., NetDocuments).
  • Experience using Forte to generate compliant legal documents and correspondence.
  • Strong understanding of legal terminology.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
