SUMMARY

The role of the Logistics Coordinator is to oversee the delivery of incoming goods and ensure that they comply with customs regulations. The Logistics Coordinator will also handle the logistics of transporting goods to the ultimate consignee/BCO.

ROLE AND RESPONSABILITIES

Position responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Coordinating import shipments from the port of arrival.
  • Arranging pickup and delivery for inland transportation.
  • Tracking shipments and updating customers to ensure timely arrival at the destination.
  • Obtaining and creating quotes for shipments while sourcing the best transportation methods.
  • Ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), best practices, and efficiencies.
  • Maintaining communication with customers and carriers/vendors.
  • Responding to customer inquiries regarding shipment status.
  • Resolving operational import issues.
  • Acting as a liaison between customers and warehouse operations regarding physical freight details.
  • Maintain strong communication with customers and building customer relationships
  • Enter and maintain inventory and activity data into the appropriate system
  • Builds load for delivery requests
  • Keeps management apprised of any delays or discrepancies
  • Comply with standard operating procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Maintain accurate inventory counts
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • High School or GED equivalent
  • Bachelor’s Degree is encouraged but not required
  • 2+ years in an Import position
  • 2+ years in the Logistics or Shipping Industry
  • Global Supply Chain knowledge helpful
