Job Summary and Qualifications Under the general supervision of the Laboratory Director, the Laboratory Manager coordinates and manages daily laboratory activities in a manner designed to increase work efficiency and accuracy. Assists duties of the Director as may be required in his/her absence. Also, provides clinical laboratory services to patients in accordance with accepted practices and Departmental and Hospital standards of care.
Each patient is assessed by appropriate disciplines beginning at the time the patient enters a hospital service and progressing through discharge. The person in this position demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide clinical laboratory services to patients served in relation to growth and development over the life span to identify their requirements relative to age-specific needs.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
A. Must have completed Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology or related Science Field and hold Medical Technologist credentials from a recognized credentialing agency.
B. Minimum 7 years working experience in a medical laboratory and 3-5 years previous supervisory experience preferred.
