Safety Coordinator

Position Overview: We are seeking a proactive and knowledgeable Safety Coordinator to oversee safety practices and compliance at active job sites. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local safety regulations, promoting a culture of safety, and implementing company safety policies across various locations. This position requires regular travel and a strong commitment to maintaining a safe working environment for all personnel, subcontractors, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular job site safety inspections to identify potential hazards and enforce compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor job sites to ensure all personnel are following safety policies, procedures, and site-specific safety plans.
  • Deliver comprehensive safety orientation and ongoing training to new hires, subcontractors, and field teams.
  • Facilitate daily and weekly safety meetings to reinforce safety protocols and address job-specific risks.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of OSHA 1926 standards, DOT regulations, and relevant state and local codes.
  • Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to implement corrective actions and continuous safety improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Safety Management, or a related field.
  • In-depth understanding of OSHA 1926, DOT, and applicable local/state safety regulations.
  • Strong communication and training skills with the ability to engage and educate diverse workgroups.
  • Willingness and ability to travel out of state up to 50% of the time.
  • Ability to work on-site in locations west of Wentzville, MO. **Position is about 20 miles west of Wentzville. Candidates living in the Wentzville, Lake St. Louis, St. Charles, Washington, Union, Fulton, Troy areas would be ideal.
