Systems Engineer - Aerospace

Join a cutting-edge aerospace engineering team that is redefining what’s possible in airborne technology. This role offers the chance to support mission-critical avionics systems for a wide range of aircraft platforms, including military and specialized aviation. With a consistent schedule and strong organizational support, you’ll enjoy stability, work-life balance, and the chance to work on systems that take flight across the globe.

Our client is a top-tier developer of integrated avionics and aerospace solutions, trusted by defense, commercial, and general aviation operators worldwide. This role offers exposure to next-gen cockpit systems, high-integrity navigation platforms, and advanced flight control technologies.

This Role Offers:

  • Competitive base salary with bonus potential and profit-sharing programs.
  • Health benefits starting on day one (medical, dental, vision, life).
  • 401(k) matching and employee stock participation plan.
  • Paid relocation support and comprehensive PTO policy.
  • Professional development support including mentorship and tuition reimbursement.
  • Inclusive culture with employee-led resource groups and leadership opportunities.
  • Unique 4-day workweek structure offering more work-life balance than traditional schedules.

Focus:

  • Interpret customer requirements to architect reliable, innovative avionics system designs.
  • Guide internal teams through systems integration and feasibility planning across cross-functional disciplines.
  • Lead technical discussions with external stakeholders, representing engineering scope and technical milestones.
  • Support system integration testing—both in-lab and in-aircraft—ensuring functionality meets specifications.
  • Develop, review, and validate wiring schematics and interface diagrams for new and modified architectures.
  • Author detailed design documentation, including block diagrams and technical data packages.
  • Evaluate system certification impact, focusing on human factors, compliance, and airworthiness requirements.
  • Collaborate on software/hardware development cycles for both new and legacy aerospace systems.
  • Recommend design improvements and streamline engineering processes based on real-world system feedback.
  • Understand and apply communication protocols like ARINC429, RS232, and RS422 across digital avionics platforms.
  • Provide installation and integration expertise across multiple aircraft types, including fixed and rotary-wing.

Skill Set:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Electrical, or related field).
  • 3+ years of experience in avionics systems development, integration, or testing.
  • Demonstrated expertise in aircraft electrical systems, embedded avionics, or flight deck technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with systems-level documentation, architecture definition, and certification pathways.
  • Familiarity with military and commercial aviation environments (e.g., Part 23, 25, 27, or 29 platforms).
  • Comfortable leading technical discussions and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (minimum two-week trips).
  • U.S. work authorization required; must be eligible for access to export-controlled information.
