Job Description

Naman Howell has an opportunity for an outstanding individual to join our accounting team as a full-time Billing Coordinator in our Waco office.

The Billing Coordinator is an analytical individual who is detail oriented with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while employing a forward-thinking approach to all processes and tasks. This person must be a team player capable of working in a group setting and providing backup to other accounting positions when needed.

This is a full-time, hourly position. Standard hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Business casual attire is required.

Duties, including but not limited to:

  • Monitors time entry into firm accounting system and provides help and support to all firm employees as needed.
  • Monitors work-in-progress and accounts receivable in firm accounting system and provides proper follow-up to ensure its timely billing and collection.
  • Ensures adherence to client billing guidelines and utilizes firm accounting system and other resources to minimize time entries outside of guidelines.
  • Prepares and edits prebills in firm accounting system at the direction of attorneys and staff while tightly adhering to firm policies and procedures.
  • Properly updates all internal systems and external e-billing vendors with any timekeeper or rate changes and proactively adds or removes timekeepers from systems as needed.
  • Researches, processes and distributes summaries, reports, and other information as needed to attorneys and staff.
  • Prepares and distributes monthly statements for all appropriate client accounts.
  • Uses broad conceptual judgment and initiative to deal with complex billing and collection issues.
  • Provides efficient and friendly service to both internal personnel and external clients.
  • Maintains confidentiality at all times.
  • Travels to the firm’s other offices on a limited basis.
  • Is flexible and willing to accept other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • Must possess a strong knowledge of general accounting principles and practices with billing experience highly preferred.
  • 3+ years of general accounting experience within a professional services organization preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Strong organization skills with the ability to multitask and meet stringent deadlines.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office suite and other common software preferred.
